David Pollack Predicts Winner in Top 20 SEC Matchup

In Week 10 of the 2025 college football season, there will be three top-25 matchups. One of these games features the No. 14 Tennessee Volunteers hosting the No. 18 Oklahoma Sooners.

Both teams enter the game with a 6-2 record, and their College Football Playoff hopes are likely on the line. No non-conference champion with three losses has ever made the playoff. The Volunteers have won four of their last five games; the Sooners have lost two of their last three.

On his podcast, “See Ball Get Ball with David Pollack,” the college football analyst shared his prediction for the big game. Pollack mentioned that he is supporting the home team.

“When you’re at home, you should win in competitive close games,” Pollack said. “If Tennessee wins, what does this mean for their future and their schedule? … I’ve got Tennessee as well.”

Tennessee enters the game boasting one of the best offenses in college football. The Volunteers rank No. 3 in total offense, No. 3 in passing offense and No. 35 in rushing offense. The team is led by quarterback Joey Aguilar, who has thrown for 2,344 yards, 18 touchdowns and six interceptions this season. In the receiving corps, Chris Brazzell II stands out with 740 yards and eight touchdowns.

They Vols be up against one of the top defenses in the sport. Oklahoma ranks fifth in total defense, 11th in passing yards allowed and sixth in rushing yards allowed. The Sooners excel at forcing negative plays, including tackles for loss and sacks. Oklahoma has four players who have recorded seven or more tackles for loss, with Taylor Wein leading the way at 11. Additionally, they have three players with three or more sacks, led by R. Mason Thomas, who has 5.5 sacks.

With strength against strength colliding in Knoxville, Saturday’s game could determine which team keeps its playoff hopes alive. Tennessee (3-2 SEC) and Oklahoma (2-2 SEC) will face off at 7:30 p.m. ET Saturday on ABC.
