You often don’t see offers being made to transfer portal prospects, but that’s exactly what Notre Dame did on Thursday morning.
The Irish haven’t had much luck with portal recruiting in general, and one of the positions they are wanted an upgrade is at defensive tackle, and made an offer to New Mexico State’s Ezra Christensen.
He’d be a graduate transfer, after having a breakout season in 2025 with 42-tackles, 6 sacks and a forced fumble. Christensen’s size could potentially be an issue playing against tougher competition, as he is a bit light at 6-foot, 2-inches and 260-pounds. It might not matter considering how productive he was.
Christensen has received multiple offers since the portal opened, as teams like Kentucky, Washington, Wisconsin and others have also expressed interest. Notre Dame will need to get him on campus, and then we’ll see if the two parties are a fit.
