Georgia football added some much needed pass rushing help with a commitment from Auburn edge rusher Amaris Williams.

The redshirt freshman from Fayetteville, N.C., committed to the Bulldogs on Thursday, Jan. 8, according to On3.

The 6-foot-2, 269-pound Williams had 14 tackles and 2 sacks in 11 games in a backup role last season. He also had 6 tackles for loss.

He had a sack against Kentucky and was credited with half a sack against both Baylor and Vanderbilt.

Georgia had trouble finishing around the quarterback at times this past season, including the Sugar Bowl loss to Ole Miss when it did not record a sack.

The Bulldogs’ 20 sacks were their lowest in a season since 2000.

Williams was a former four-star prospect by the 247Sports Composite which ranked him the No. 62 overall player in the 2024 class.
