Two former York County football players will be heading to new Division I college programs. Jahiem White and Kenny Johnson, both of whom shined in YAIAA’s Division I, have announced their commitments to new college programs after short stints in the transfer portal.

White, who played at York High under coach Russ Stoner, announced his commitment to North Texas after a three-season stint at West Virginia. White initially entered the portal on Jan. 2 following a season that saw him sidelined due to a knee injury sustained in Week 2. Through three seasons with the Mountaineers, White rushed for 1,819 career yards and 14 touchdowns.

At North Texas, White will be reunited with former Mountaineers head coach Neal Brown, who was fired from his position after the 2024 season. The Mountaineers went 6-6 overall that season and tied for eighth in the Big 12 standings with a 5-4 conference record. White earned Freshman All-American honors under Brown and led the Mountaineers with 1,086 all-purpose yards in 2023.

Johnson, a former Dallastown standout under coach Levi Murphy, announced his intention to transfer from Pitt on Dec. 29 after his own three-year stint with the Panthers. Johnson later committed to Texas Tech and head coach Joey McGuire, as first reported by CBS Sports on Jan. 7.

During his time with the Panthers, Johnson made 109 receptions for 1,354 yards and nine touchdowns. He also had a pair of kick and punt return touchdowns, coming in 2023 and 2025, respectively.
