The trend of former Auburn players transferring to an SEC rival continued Thursday as former Tiger defensive lineman Amaris Williams is set to transfer to Georgia.
Chad Simmons and Hayes Fawcett of On3/Rivals shared the news of Williams’ plan to transfer to Georgia on X Thursday. Williams signed with Auburn as a five-star EDGE from the 2024 recruiting cycle. He was the No. 5 EDGE from the class and the No. 2 recruit from North Carolina out of Clinton High School. In two seasons at Auburn, Williams made 21 tackles with 2.5 sacks. After making seven tackles as a freshman in 2024, he took a step forward in 2025 with 14 tackles and two sacks.
Williams becomes another in a plethora of names to make their move from Auburn to another SEC program. Notable names that have also transferred to SEC programs include Malik Blocton (LSU), Jamonta Waller (Arkansas), Jay Crawford (Ole Miss), Kayin Lee (Tennessee), Robert Woodyard, and Kensley Louidor-Faustin (both to Missouri).
