Following his first full season as the Longhorns’ starting quarterback, Arch Manning is earning national attention for his play. On Thursday, the Louisiana native was one of five players added as a finalist for the Manning Award. In total, there are 15 finalists for the honor.
During the 2025 campaign, Manning completed 248-of-404 passes for 3,163 yards. While completing 61 percent of his passing attempts, the Longhorns‘ star found the end zone 26 times and etched his way into the record books. He had three games with at least 300 passing yards and three touchdown passes without an interception, the most by a Longhorns QB since Major Applewhite in 1999.

While the Isidore Newman High Alum made headlines with his arm, he was also a threat on the ground. The Longhorns ‘ sophomore recorded 399 rushing yards on 92 carries. That was the second-most on the team, trailing only Quintrevion Wisner, who is now a Seminole. Regardless of the opponent, Manning found a way to make an impact.
Although Manning had an up-and-down start, he got better as the season went on. When he was locked in Texas was hard to stop and held their own against ranked teams. While the Longhorns did not qualify for the College Football Playoff, they did finish with 10 wins and beat Michigan in the Cheez-It Citrus Bowl.

As Manning begins preparing for his junior campaign, he will be watching how the voting for the award named after his uncles plays out. While it is a crowded field, the former five-star recruit made a compelling case with his play as the season winded down. The winner will be revealed on January 19th, after the College Football Playoff National Championship.
