Oregon football has added some bodies to its banged-up running back room for the Ducks‘ Peach Bowl matchup vs. Indiana in the College Football Playoff semifinal game.

According to ESPN’s Pete Thamel and Katie George, Dan Lanning has moved over safety Kilohana Haasenritter and linebacker Brayden Platt to offense and the running back section of their depth chart. Oregon is set to kick off at 7:30 p.m. ET on Friday, Jan. 9 against the Hoosiers in the CFP Peach Bowl semifinal.

The Ducks’ roster moves come after running back Noah Whittington was, on Thursday, Jan. 8, added to the Ducks’ CFP Peach Bowl injury report.

As noted on their Oregon player profiles, Haasenritter and Platt both have experience playing running back from their respective high school careers.

Oregon is looking to avenge its Week 7 loss to Indiana on Jan. 9 and advance to the program’s first CFP Championship game since 2014, when it fell to Ohio State. Should the Ducks upset the Hoosiers in the Peach Bowl, they will become the fifth team to win a regular-season rematch in the College Football Playoff.

Here’s what to know on why Haasenritter and Platt are being listed at running back for Friday’s CFP Peach Bowl:

Why are Kilohana Haasenritter, Brayden Platt at RB for Oregon?

Oregon enters the CFP Peach Bowl semifinal with just three available scholarship running backs heading into its playoff semifinal against Indiana: Whittington, Dierre Hill Jr. and Jay Harris. Whittington remains a game-time decision with an undisclosed injury after popping up on the Ducks’ injury report on Thursday.

The Ducks also ruled out running back Jordon Davison, who leads the team with 15 rushing touchdowns, on Wednesday, Jan. 7 after he sustained a broken clavicle in the CFP Orange Bowl quarterfinal against Texas Tech, per the Oregonian.

Though he is available for the Peach Bowl, Harris entered the transfer portal on Wednesday, Jan. 7. The Ducks lost running backs Jayden Limar and Makhi Hughes to the portal as well. Unlike Harris, neither Limar nor Hughes stayed with the program for the remainder of the CFP after entering the portal.
