LSU Tigers Running Out Of Top Options At Quarterback In Transfer Portal

The LSU Tigers have no scholarship quarterbacks on their roster and are running out of options for top players in the transfer portal as most players have already found their new schools.

Most of the big pushes they have made to this point have not panned out.

Brendan Sorsby chose the Texas Tech Red Raiders, and Demond Williams Jr. ended up not going in the portal after his contact with the Washington Huskies made things complicated.

Trinidad Chambliss was an early fan favorite option, but announced that he would return to the Ole Miss Rebels if his waiver got approved, which is not looking likely right now. With his future unclear, the Rebels are projected to land star Auburn Tigers transfer Deuce Knight per Pete Nakos of On3.

The Tigers still have a couple of top options available, though. Here is how the quarterback market looks right now:

Arizona State Sun Devils QB Sam Leavitt

Leavitt is the top quarterback in the portal and would obviously be a great addition, but the ship might have passed already. His visit to Baton Rouge has come and gone without a deal. In the middle of his trip is when LSU reportedly shifted focus to Demond Williams, which is not a great sign for their future with Leavitt.

If they can get past what happened towards the end of his visit, this is still a partnership that makes a ton of sense. Leavitt has already visited the Tigers, Tennessee Volunteers and Kentucky Wildcats. His next visit will be to the Miami Hurricanes.

Nebraska Cornhuskers QB Dylan Raiola

There hasn't been much to connect LSU with Raiola to this point, so it's unclear if this will ever be a real option. The Tigers want to land a top quarterback, though, and Raiola is one of the only high-ranked players still available.

He was the fifth-ranked passer in the portal entering this cycle and is behind only Leavitt in the remaining players.

Raiola has completed 69.1% of his passes for 4,819 yards with 31 touchdowns to 17 interceptions through two seasons with the Cornhuskers. He doesn't offer much with his legs.

USC Trojans QB Husan Longstreet

Lane Kiffin has had success with Trojan transfers in the past, going back to current New York Giants star Jaxson Dart. Longstreet entered the portal late on Thursday and could end up being a miracle for this coaching staff.

Longstreet was a five-star quarterback in the 2025 recruiting class. 247Sports had him as the No. 25 overall player in the country and the fourth-ranked passer, one spot above fellow transfer portal standout Deuce Knight.

The California native appeared in four games as a true freshman, meaning he will have four years of eligibility. He attempted passes in two games. He completed 13-of-15 passes for 103 yards and a touchdown, running the ball 11 times for 76 yards and two more scores.

This would be a fun addition for LSU. He is mobile and has a cannon for an arm.

Elon Phoenix QB Landen Clark

Clark might not be a top option out of the portal, but he is being included here because the Tigers have offered him, and a visit is scheduled. He's a three-star transfer and ranked as the 75th quarterback available.

He completed 56% of his passes for 2,321 yards with 18 touchdowns to eight interceptions as a redshirt freshman. He has a cannon of an arm and is mobile with 189 carries for 614 yards and 11 touchdowns.

The best-case scenario is that Clark lands here as the top backup option. The Michigan Wolverines are also interested.
