A reserve Clemson defensive lineman has decided to remain with the program after briefly entering the NCAA transfer portal. According to reports, redshirt junior Caden Story has withdrawn his name from the portal after it opened earlier this month. Story was first reported to have entered the portal on Jan. 1 and has one season of eligibility remaining.
Story saw limited action during the 2025 season, appearing in five games and recording five tackles, including half a tackle for loss, along with a half-sack across 71 defensive snaps. His most extensive playing time came in the Pinstripe Bowl loss to Penn State, where he finished with four tackles and added a half-sack.
Over his Tiger career from 2022 through 2025, Story has appeared in 24 games as a rotational defensive lineman. During that span, he has been credited with nine to 10 total tackles, 0.5 tackles for loss, and half a sack while logging 190 defensive snaps.

Story was a four-star prospect coming out of high school and signed with Clemson as part of the 2022 recruiting class. He redshirted his first season in the program. The 6-foot-3, 275-pound defensive lineman was ranked as the No. 21 defensive lineman and the No. 148 overall prospect nationally in his class.
