As Iowa football continues to scout the transfer portal, the Hawkeyes are hosting former Furman wide receiver Evan James on Sunday for a tour of Iowa City, according to Hawkeye Report's Blair Sanderson.
In his freshman year at Furman, James led the Paladins in receiving, catching 65 passes for 796 yards and seven touchdowns, while also rushing for 72 yards and a score in nine games played.
A 5-foot-11, 170-pound receiver, James was a three-star signee in Furman's 2025 class, per 247Sports. 247Sports ranked James as the nation's 208th wide receiver and as the No. 190 player from Florida in the 2025 cycle.

In addition to his Saturday night trip to Iowa City, James also took an official visit to Michigan State on Jan. 5.
With the Hawkeyes losing a handful of key weapons at wide receiver, securing the skilled FCS-level pass-catcher would certainly be a welcome sight for both offensive coordinator Tim Lester and head coach Kirk Ferentz.
