Louisville football’s 2027 recruiting class is shaping up to be one of the best in program history.
The Cardinals’ first three commitments are all four-star prospects who attends schools within the region. After earning commitments from quarterback Jack Sorgi, who’s from Indiana, and wide receiver Chuck Alexander, an Ohio native, the Cardinals pulled in local cornerback Allen Evans. Evans attends Trinity High School, UofL head coach Jeff Brohm’s alma mater, and is Louisville’s sixth-highest ranked recruit since 2000, according to 247Sports. He’s also the program’s third-highest ranked local product in the modern era, behind Male High School graduate Michael Bush and former Shamrock and current Cards’ offensive coordinator Brian Brohm, who are ranked Nos. 1 and 2, respectively.
Jeff Brohm has succeeded in recruiting locally and regionally since he took over as the Cardinals’ head coach in December 2022. The last three recruiting classes have included 22 players from either Kentucky, Indiana or Ohio while still expanding the team’s reach and resources to Florida and Georgia.
The current trio of 2027 commits rank 17th nationally and sixth in the ACC, according to 247Sports.
Brohm & Co. continue to build the program through both the transfer portal and recruiting ranks on the heels of reaching at least nine wins for a third straight season. That included a win over second-ranked Miami, which was undefeated at the time, and a Boca Raton Bowl win over Toledo to cap the 2025 campaign. The Cardinals will open the 2026 season against Ole Miss in Nashville.
