A former Nebraska quarterback has returned home. Daniel Kaelin has transferred back to the Huskers after one season with the Virginia Cavaliers.

The sophomore finished the 2025 season with 339 passing yards, a touchdown and an interception. Kaelin joined Nebraska’s class of 2024 as a three-star recruit and the No. 6 prospect in Nebraska.

He initially committed to the Missouri Tigers before switching his commitment to the Cornhuskers. As a senior at Bellevue West High School, Kaelin was 187 of 319 for 2,225 yards and 17 touchdowns against only six interceptions.

The quarterback will have three years of eligibility remaining. He joins a quarterback room that now has UNLV transfer Anthony Colandrea and sophomore TJ Lateef.
