Who is Dylan Raiola? Oregon football lands transfer QB from Nebraska

The transfer portal has brought another top quarterback prospect to Oregon.

Dylan Raiola announced on Instagram Jan. 12 he has committed to the Ducks after a two-year starting career at Nebraska.

Raiola was one of the top quarterbacks in the transfer portal and the No. 21-ranked recruit and No. 3 quarterback of the 2024 high school recruiting class according to the 247sports composite rankings.

The Ducks are still waiting for Dante Moore to make a public announcement about his future. The Oregon starter is a projected first-round NFL draft pick after his first full season as a starter. If Moore departs, Raiola would likely be first in line to replace him.

The 6-foot-3, 230-pound Georgia native started since his freshman season at Nebraska. In his career he has thrown for 4,819 yards on 456-of-660 passing (69.1%), with 31 touchdowns and 17 interceptions.

In 2025 he passed for 2,000 yards with 18 touchdowns to six interceptions in nine games before suffering a season-ending broken fibula injury against Southern California on Nov. 1.

Coach Dan Lanning has built his offenses around transfer quarterbacks since he arrived at Oregon in 2022. Auburn transfer Bo Nix led the Ducks in 2022 and 2023 and Oklahoma transfer Dillon Gabriel played his final collegiate season at Oregon in 2024. Both were Heisman Trophy finalists as seniors.

Lanning also brought in Moore in 2024 to sit and learn behind Gabriel. The former five-star recruit, who started a handful of games at UCLA as a freshman in 2023, benefited from taking a redshirt season and the same could hold true for Raiola if Moore returns in 2026.

Oregon's other quarterbacks on the roster are Brock Thomas, who saw playing time in 2025 as Moore's backup, and freshman Akili Smith Jr. The Ducks also signed Bryson Beaver in their 2026 recruiting class. Austin Novosad and Luke Moga are transferring.
