Drew:

King Felix played a major role in Chris Klieman’s turnaround at Kansas State. He was, after all, the best defensive player on a Big 12 Championship team.

No one thought he would end up as one of the best defensive players in Kansas State history, given his low 3-star evaluation from the recruiting services. In fact, he was the lowest-rated Kansas State recruit in the 2020 recruiting class. Fortunately for the Wildcats, Coach Klieman had no time for anyone else’s player evaluation. He knew what he wanted from a defensive lineman, and Felix checked all the boxes.

After seeing the field during the 2o2o pandemic season, he hit the ground running in 2021 and didn’t look back until he heard his name called in the NFL draft. His 2021 game against TCU in Manhattan was a game for the ages. He recorded 8 tackles, 4 tackles for loss, 4 sacks, and forced 2 fumbles. I’m not sure I’ve seen a defensive lineman dominate a game the way he did that game. He single-handedly blew up the Horned Frogs’ game plan, and then he blew up all their adjustments. In 2022, he did the same thing to Texas Tech, recording 6 tackles, 3 tackles for loss, 3 sacks, and forcing a fumble.

He was the definition of a defensive end game wrecker, and Kansas State doesn’t sniff the Big 12 Championship in 2022 without King Felix.

Truly a Kansas State legend.
