Hey Everyone. Today is another check-in on old rivals/friends from the great West Coast. Today are the teams that can touch the Pacific ocean but play in the Atlantic Coast Conference

Over/Under Win Total: 6.5

SP+ Ranking: +3.7 (56th in FBS – 11th in the ACC)

Head Coach: Tosh Lupoi 1st Season

Offensive Coordinator: Jordan Somerville 1ST Season

Defensive Coordinator: Michael Hutchings 1st Season

Projected Starting QB: Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele

After Justin Wilcox failed to get the Golden Bears to at least 8 wins in a season for the 5th consecutive year Cal got fed up with being aggressively average and decided to move on. Their new coach who Oregon fans should be very familiar with was the most recent Duck defensive coordinator Tosh Lupoi.

Lupoi hired two very young coordinators that most recently were positional assistants in the NFL.

The real exciting thing about the Cal roster is true sophomore QB Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele who started all 13 games last year as a true freshmen  and put up a 131.6 Passer Rating which was a couple points below FBS median.

Stanford

Over/Under Win Total: 3.5

SP+ Ranking: -1.9 (75th in FBS 17th in the ACC)

Head Coach: Tavita Prichard 1st Season

Offensive Coordinator: Terry Heffernan 1st Season

Defensive Coordinator: Kris Richard 1st Season

Projected Starting QB: Davis Warren

Stanford is onto their 3rd coach in their 3rd season after leaving the PAC-12 as Troy Taylor was fired in March of 2025. Frank Reich was an interim coach for the entire year and now they have made the long-term hire in Tavita Prichard.

Terry Heffernan will be the OC after spending the previous 3 years as the Virginia O-Line coach while the DC is Kris Richard who has spent the last 15 years in the NFL as a defensive coordinator or secondary coach.

The starting QB will be Davis Warren who Oregon fans may remember playing against in 2024 when Oregon played at Michigan and Warren is most famous for leading the Wolverines to a win over the Buckeyes in a shocking upset later that season.
