UTEP Miners football rolls out signing day class of 23 players

UTEP rolled out a National Signing Day class of 23 players as it restocks for coach Scotty Walden's third season.

All 23 of these players will be eligible for spring practice. The class features 11 offensive players (five linemen, two receivers, two running backs and two quarterbacks), eight defensive players (three defensive linemen, three safeties, a cornerback and a linebacker), and four special teams players (two kickers, a long snapper and a punter).

 UTEP was set to announce the class, along with new coaching hires, at a 10 a.m. news conference today. A former El Paso high school star, Tavorus Jones, running back, is among the signees. He attended Burges High School and played at the University of Missouri.
