.75 Million College Football Coach Expected To Replace Mark Stoops At Kentucky

The SEC has gone ramped in the coaching carousel during the final weeks of the regular season.

Ahead of conference title weekend, several teams made coaching changes. The following coaches have been hired at the respective programs listed: Alex Golesh (Auburn), Ryan Silverfield (Arkansas), Jon Sumrall (Tulane), James Franklin (Virginia Tech) and Lane Kiffin (LSU).

As these teams prepare for a new road ahead, following several disappointing campaigns for the programs, Kentucky made another major move in the college football realm.

The Wildcats recently fired Mark Stoops after 13 seasons with the program.

As Kentucky gets ready to announce their future head coach, reports surfaced that Oregon Ducks offensive coordinator Will Stein is expected to be named to the position.

Will Stein has been the Oregon Ducks’ offensive coordinator from 2023 to 2025. He’s helped produce some incredible seasons for Dan Lannings’ Ducks, leading Oregon with several elite quarterbacks like Dillon Gabriel, Bo Nix and now, Dante Moore.

All three players were once considered Heisman Trophy candidates during their time with Stein.

Stein will now take over a program that’s had back-to-back seasons with missed bowl games. Stoops departs, leaving Kentucky at the bottom of the SEC standings with several other struggling programs like Arkansas and Florida.

The Oregon offensive coordinator currently has an annual salary of around $1.75 million with the Ducks.

Will Stein will reportedly finish out the Oregon Ducks season as Dan Lanning and company are set to make the College Football Playoff, having finished the regular season as the No. 6 team, in the nation.
