The transfer portal in college football doesn't officially open until Jan. 2, thanks to new rules instituted this season. Still, that doesn't mean the wild roster movement for this offseason hasn't already begun.
Though players can't formally enter the portal until the new year, nothing is stopping them from announcing their intentions to do so (and opting out of bowl games). Quite a few stars from around the country have already chosen to announce that they'll be playing for new teams in 2026.
With this being the first full offseason after the House settlement — which allowed schools to pay players directly through revenue sharing — came into effect, there's expected to be a ton of movement in the weeks and months to come.
Here are some of the biggest names who have already announced that they will be entering the transfer portal on Jan. 2.
EDGE Chaz Coleman, Penn State
