Quarterback
Jackson County Central
After becoming a starter in the eighth grade, the next five years for Voss saw him become the greatest player in JCC history. His career saw him break countless school records, earn numerous state-wide awards and become the No. 1 recruit in the state. He finished with a school record 30 rushing touchdowns on 1,893 yards and completed 95 passes for 1,902 yards and 21 touchdowns. The University of Minnesota commit was recently named the Gatorade Player of the Year and Mr. Football in Minnesota.
Jamin Metzger
Quarterback
Hills-Beaver Creek
A historic career at Hills-Beaver Creek for Metzger ended with him leading the program to its first state championship since 1990. According to his coach, Rex Metzger, the University of Sioux Falls commit has made throws that not many can make at the high school level and is a threat with his arm and his legs. He completed 152 passes at an 80% rate for 2,455 yards, 41 touchdowns and only five interceptions. He also ran for nine scores on 301 yards this season as he led the Patriots to an unbeaten record.
Jackson Jenniges

Adrian/Ellsworth
Jenniges was a major presence virtually everywhere on the football field in just his sophomore year with the Dragons. Competing in the 9-Man class for the first time in 34 years, Jenniges helped A/E remain a physical force in their new class by running for 1,434 yards and scoring 24 total touchdowns. He was also the team's second leading tackler with 93 as a linebacker on defense. Jenniges was also a threat as a kick returner as he flipped multiple games with long touchdowns.
Carson Lewis
Running Back
Murray County Central
Murray County Central football prides itself on its physicality and the bruising junior running back was a major reason behind that playing style this year. Part of a triple option offense full of talented runners, Lewis was his team's leading rusher with 1,325 yards and 16 touchdowns on 200 carries. That came off a sophomore season where he ran for over 1,300 yards and 14 scores as a two-year varsity starter. He helped the Rebels bounce back from a 0-2 start to reach the state semifinals.
Brodie Metzger
Wide Receiver
Hills-Beaver Creek
Even though he is just a sophomore, his head coach said he looks and plays like a senior. A very athletic force, Metzger was his quarterback's top receiving threat, always capable of making explosive plays. He set a school record this year for most receiving touchdowns with 18 and he also caught 62 total passes for 1,096 yards. Metzger also ran for 483 yards and eight touchdowns and added 42 tackles, two sacks and an interception on defense.

On defense as a cornerback, Swanson finished with 36 total tackles.
Jaydon Johnson
Tight End
Luverne
The senior was a team leader for head coach Todd Oye's team and played multiple positions on both sides of the ball. A two-time all-district player, Johnson moved from tight end to fullback at times to get the tough yards for the Cardinals. He totaled 12 receptions and was a team leader on defense that allowed less than 13 points per game all season.
Weston Rowe
Offensive Line
Jackson County Central
Rowe makes the all-area team as an offensive lineman for the second straight season as he anchored one of the top front fives in the state. On the left side of the line, Rowe formed a dominant offensive line that helped the Huskies become a potent rushing attack en route to a second straight state title in Class AA. He is committed to South Dakota State for football after high school.
Colby Kesteloot
Offensive Line
Murray County Central
A primary driving force behind MCC's bounce-back season that ended up in its first state semifinal in 25 years was the Rebels' offensive line. Head coach Patrick Freeman said the senior was dominant on both offense and defense as he was a three-time all-district player and two-time District Lineman of the Year. He contributed to 13 steak dinners (games in which the team ran for over 300 yards) and finished with 90 tackles and 11 sacks in his career.
Brady Jandl
Offensive Line
Edgerton
Jandl made his first varsity start in the seventh game of his eighth-grade season after an injury to star Jared Fischer. Ever since then, Jandl has become a central figure behind Edgerton's success in the last few years. During a postgame radio interview, Flying Dutchmen head coach Andrew Fleischman once called Jandl one of the best linemen he's had in his 24 years coaching.
Michael Reipke
Offensive Line
Jackson County Central
Reipke formed a fierce left side of the offensive line with Rowe that allowed the Huskies to score a school record 642 points and gain nearly 6,000 yards of offense. He and the entire JCC offensive line have helped the Huskies win 26 straight games with back-to-back 13-0 seasons and state championships. He recovered two fumbles on defense this season.
Wyett Shimp
Defensive Line
Hills-Beaver Creek
Coach Rex Metzger called the senior lineman the anchor of both the offensive and defensive lines. A big, fast athletic player who disrupted things on defense and the offense ran behind on offense totaled 22 tackles, two sacks, seven tackles for loss and an interception as the Patriot defense held opponents to 10.5 points per game.
Quintin Lewis
Defensive Line
Murray County Central
Lewis gave plenty of versatility to the Rebels on both sides of the ball. He anchored the Rebels' defensive line by leading the team in sacks. His head coach said that he was one of the best fundamental players he has ever coached. After only playing one game last year due to injury, he came back with 98 tackles and 10 sacks and was named to his second all-district team.
Bryce Nielsen

The JCC defense shut out an opponent three times, including once in the section playoffs and another time in the state semifinals.
Garrett Penning
Linebacker
Adrian/Ellsworth
Penning makes his debut on the all-area team after a strong senior season for the Dragons. One of the top linebackers in the area, Penning totaled 100 tackles on defense and was always a blocking threat on offense. He was also occasionally a running threat on offense to pick up the tough yards, as he ran for 147 yards and scored three touchdowns. In a game against Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart, Penning forced a fumble that was recovered for a touchdown.
Owen Olsem
Linebacker
Heron Lake-Okabena/Fulda
Olsem was the Coyotes' Co-Defensive Player of the Year along with defensive back Kaston Clarke. Also an all-district player, Olsen finished with 99 tackles, four of which were for loss, a fumble recovery and an interception. Stevie Meyer

He had 53 catches for 811 yards and 11 touchdowns as a receiver.

A first-timer on the all-area team, Noeno was the lone Trojan to make an all-district team. A leader on the WHS defense, Noeno finished with 62 total tackles, including 47 solo and 15 assisted, three interceptions and two passes broken up. He also lined up as a wide receiver for the Trojans and he finished with three receptions for 38 yards.
Jaxon Lais
Defensive Back

Lais started at defensive back for the Cardinals since his sophomore year, but he was also featured quite a bit his senior year as a wide receiver as well. He set the Luverne High School record this year with 54 receptions for 810 yards and seven touchdowns. He also helped anchor a defense that shut out opponents three times.
Michael Gunnink
Defensive Back
Edgerton
Gunnink was a standout on offense and defense for Edgerton. A five-year starter, Gunnink was one of four eighth-graders who played for the team back in 2021 when the team nearly didn't have a team due to low numbers. Since then, Gunnink has helped lead the Flying Dutchmen to consistent success. He had three interceptions in a game this year for the Dutchmen as he rarely left the field.
