El Paso saves its biggest sports moment of the year for the last day of the year, with the Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl.
Dating back to 1935, making it tied for the second-oldest bowl after the Rose Bowl, the Sun Bowl has its now-traditional New Year’s Eve playing date and will pit Arizona State and Duke.
The noon MT kickoff is the culmination of months of activities leading up to the big game.
27th Annual Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl Fan Fiesta presented by El Paso Live
The official day-before, free, open-to-the-public event is a pep rally featuring a battle of the bands, food, drinks, live music and interactive booths.

- Where: Judson F. Williams Convention Center, 1 Civic Center Plaza
Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl Pregame Fan Party presented by Visit El Paso
The pregame tailgate party, which is free and open to the public, features a live DJ, games, giveaways, food and beverage vendors.
- Time: 8:30-11:30 a.m. MT
- Location: Glory Field. Directly north of the Sun Bowl and west of the Don Haskins Center
92nd Annual Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl Game
The nation’s second-oldest bowl game, which pits an ACC team against a Pac-12 Legacy team, kicks off at noon and will be televised on CBS.

Sun Bowl ticket information
Tickets to the 2025 Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl are on sale now at Ticketmaster.com or call 915-533-4416. That includes tickets for parking.
For game day ticket purchases, ticket offices are at the northern and southern entrances of Sun Bowl Stadium and open at 8 a.m. No phone orders will be accepted on the day of the game.
Sun Bowl parking
- Lots open at 6 a.m.
- Reserved parking passes can be purchased for $24 or $25 through the Sun Bowl Association on or before Dec. 30, by 5 p.m.
- Vehicle parking passes must be displayed when entering university property.
- A physical parking decal is required for entry into all paid parking lots on game day. No mobile parking options are available.
- Parking decals purchased through Ticketmaster.com will be mailed or placed in Will Call by the Sun Bowl Association, depending on your selected delivery option at checkout.
- Will Call Pickup (Sept. 1 through Dec. 30): Monday through Friday at the Sun Bowl Association office.
- Game Day Will Call (Dec. 31): 8:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Starbucks, 2300 N. Mesa St.
- No parking sales available on game day (Dec. 31).
Free parking for Sun Bowl
- Off Schuster Avenue, south of Sun Bowl Stadium between Hawthorne Street and Interstate 10.
- On Sun Bowl Drive, north of Don Haskins Center lots.
- On the inner campus of the University of Texas at El Paso.
- On limited side streets and in neighborhoods adjacent to the university campus. Please note posted parking signs.
- The parking garage on Schuster Avenue.
Sun Bowl Stadium allowable, prohibited items
Sun Bowl Stadium is a clear bag venue. Fans will be allowed to enter Sun Bowl Stadium with a clear bag that meets the following specifications:
- Bags (including clear backpacks) that are clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and do not exceed 12” x 6” x 12”
- One-gallon clear plastic freezer bag (Ziploc bag or similar)
- Small clutch bag approximately the size of a hand (4.5” x 6.5” or smaller), with or without a handle or strap. This can be carried separately or within a plastic bag.
- Medical bags with health-necessary items are acceptable after proper inspection and approval from venue personnel or security.
All bags will be subject to search upon entry to Sun Bowl Stadium. Fans who leave Sun Bowl Stadium will have their bags searched upon re-entry. All patrons are subject to search or metal detector wanding by security personnel.
The following items are prohibited in the Sun Bowl.
- Alcohol
- Flasks or containers
- Glass containers
- Outside food or beverages*
- Infant seats
- Strollers
- Umbrellas
- Coolers
- Signs or banners
- Noisemakers
- Whistles
- Drones
- Narcotics
- Weapons
- Laser pointers
- Tobacco products
- Oversized stadium chairs or cushions
- Pets*
Bottles and formula for infants and trained service animals are allowed.
