Alabama Crimson Tide (1-0) vs Kentucky Wildcats (1-0)

Lexington, KY ~ 2:30/3:30 ABC

  • Editorial: It’s the first road start and first SEC start for the Tide’s young quarterback. The game speeds up a tick from what East Carolina brought. The UK players are a bit cocky after their big 45-13 win over Youngstown State. Several UK beat reporters are picking the ‘Cats to notch the upset. Some are calling this a trap game. I beg to differ.
  • UK Coach: Will Stein (1-0 first year as a head coach)
  • UK 2025: 5–7 (2–6 SEC), fired Mark Stoops.
  • Injuries: Alabama starting guard Michael Carroll has moved from “doubtful” to “out”. We are hearing concussion protocol. Zyan Gibson was added as “out.” The freshman is the next man up at cornerback behind Zabien Brown and Dijon Lee. Freshman DB Jireh Edwards (arm) is “game-time decision”. No significant Kentucky player is out.
  • Familiar Face: Former Bama reserve OL Olaus Alinen will start at left guard for the Wildcats.
  • Weather: Scattered thunderstorms were predicted throughout the day, but the skies have miraculously cleared up. Still a chance of wet stuff with a high around 81°.
  • TV Announcers: Sean McDonough and Greg McElroy with Katie George on the sidelines.
  • Radio: Chris Stewart, Tyler Watts, and Cory Reamer on Alabama Radio.
  • Vegas: FanDuel’s point spread has Alabama as a 10.5 point favorite with an Over/Under of 48.5 (down one point).
