While he was not taken in the 257 NFL Draft picks that took place between Thursday and Saturday, the New York Giants have signed Michigan Wolverines kicker Dominic Zvada as an undrafted free agent.
The Chandler, Arizona native transferred to the Wolverines ahead of the 2024 season after starting for Arkansas State as a freshman and sophomore. In his junior season, Zvada was a record-breaking kicker, winning the Bakken-Andersen Big Ten Kicker of the Year after converting 95.5 percent of his field goal attempts. He was also 7-for-7 on kicks of 50+ yards, both setting Michigan records.
Most notably, he drilled a 54-yard field goal and a 21-yarder at Ohio State to take down the Buckeyes. He also scored 12 points against Alabama in the 2024 ReliaQuest Bowl with field goals from 45, 30, 21 and 37 yards.
Zvada could have left Ann Arbor for the NFL Draft in 2025, but he chose to return. Unfortunately, his senior year was not as successful as his first year with the program. He converted just 17-of-25 field goals, several of those from less than 40 yards. He was 2-for-3 from 50+ yards and matched his career long of 56, but never reached last season’s consistency.
But he still had clutch moments in 2025. Zvada made kicks from 46, 56 and 21 yards in a three-point win at Nebraska, and he kicked the game-winner at Wrigley Field against Northwestern as the clock expired.
Zvada may not have had a stellar senior year, but he has shown time and time again he has the leg to thrive at the next level.
Maize n Brew Scouting Report
“The senior kicker earned Walter Camp Preseason All-American honors in 2025, but converted just 17-of-25 field goals, several of those under 40 yards. He was 2-for-3 from 50-plus yards, and matched his career long of 56, but never reached last season’s consistency. His 84 percent conversion rate from 50 yards and beyond might be overshadowed by his inconsistencies with mid-range and shorter kicks. In a league where makes from mid-range to deep are now expected, consistency from inside the 40 is absolutely demanded. Still, Mel Kiper projected Zvada as the third kicker off the board in his NFL Draft positional rankings. If Zvada finds his 2024 form and stays there, he will pick up a spot on an NFL roster.”
