2026 Tennessee football preview: David Sanders Jr.

Sophomore offensive lineman David Sanders Jr. enters his second season at Tennessee in 2026.

The 6-foot-6, 305-pound offensive lineman appeared in nine games, including six starts, as a freshman for the Vols in 2025. All six starts were at right tackle and he totaled 480 offensive snaps.

Sanders Jr. did not allow a sack in eight of the nine contests he played in. He made his collegiate debut at Mississippi State on Sept. 27, 2025, playing 11 offensive snaps.

Sanders Jr. missed the Vols’ first four games last season due to injury.

The former five-star prospect is from Providence Day School in Charlotte, North Carolina and enrolled at Tennessee in Jan. 2025. He earned 2023 North Carolina Gatorade Player of the Year honors and won three straight NCISAA state championships.

Sanders Jr. committed to the Vols on Aug. 17, 2024 over Georgia, Nebraska and Ohio State.
