2027 4-star DL and Texas A&M is 'forever locked in' with the Aggies

Texas A&M’s 2027 recruiting class features a wide array of talent at nearly every position group, as all ten commitments, including four-star defensive lineman Elijah Patmon, have made their way to College Station over the past year, and will continue to visit head coach Mike Elko and his staff this year before ultimately signing with the program in December.

Patmon, who announced his commitment early in the process back on October 11, before Texas A&M defeated Florida at home to reach 6-0 on the year. Since Mike Elko came aboard, the Aggies have dominated the state of Georgia in recruiting, landing four prospects in the 2026 signing class, while Patmon, who received nearly 30 offers from the likes of Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, and Texas, was high on the Aggies throughout the recruiting process.

One of the top run defenders in the high school ranks, Patmon is a versatile defender with the size and athleticism to thrive in Mike Elko’s and new defensive coordinator Lyle Hemphill’s scheme, as incoming senior defensive tackle DJ Hicks is coming off a career year, which should inspire Patmon during his journey to College Station.

On Tuesday, just three months after ending his recruitment, Patmon posted on X, stating that he remains committed to Texas A&M and does not plan to take any other visits. In today’s chaotic recruiting/transfer portal age, you can only trust a man by his word, and so far, Patmon is on his way to signing with the Aggies.

Over his last two seasons, Patmon recorded 71 tackles, three sacks, and nine tackles for loss at Warner Robins High.
