2027 4-star DL Brayden Parks announces commitment date, Oregon in mix

The Oregon Ducks have 24 commits as part of their 2027 recruiting class, ranking second in the nation. At the defensive line position, they’ve received commitments from four-star Zane Rowe and three-star Achilles Reyna, a spot that they could stand to improve upon before the class is all finished up.

They’ll have an opportunity to do so this coming week, as four-star defensive lineman Brayden Parks will make his commitment decision on July 23 with Oregon and Notre Dame as his two finalists.

Standing 6-foot-3 and 305 pounds, Parks is the No. 24 defensive lineman and No. 199 player nationally in the 2027 class, per 247Sports Composite. He competes for Brother Rice High School in Chicago, IL, where he’s the 10th-ranked player in the state.

As for why Oregon and Notre Dame are his finalists, Parks lauded the elite rosters and experienced coaching staff at both programs.

“I’d say it’s just a feeling thing,” Parks told Rivals’ Hunter Shelton. “Both these programs, they’re top-five preseason rank, so the trajectory is there. Both coaches, they’ve been in the league, put players into the league. Both head coaches, they’ve been doing great things ever since they got the job, so I think it’s just a feeling thing, What feels right.”

As a junior at Brother Rice, the Chicago native totaled 44 tackles in 13 games. He’s a big, strong pile-mover at the point of attack in the middle of the defensive line, dominating the competition at the high school level.

If the Ducks could add him to their defense, he’d be another high-level defensive linemen, potentially joining over half a dozen players at that position that have been drafted into the NFL during Dan Lanning’s tenure.
