Success along the defensive line for the Oregon Ducks in recent seasons hasn't been hard to come by, as highly-talented recruits have largely lived up to their potential and filled big roles. 2026 should be more of the same, as the entire starting defensive line from 2025 spurned the NFL draft and will return for one more season together.

For those reasons, it's not hard to see why the Ducks are a prominent landing spot for talented recruits like George Toia.

The 2027 four-star defensive lineman released the final eight schools in consideration for his recruitment, with Oregon included alongside Michigan, Texas Tech, LSU, Penn State, Texas, Oklahoma and Auburn.

Standing 6-foot-2 and 295 pounds, Toia is the No. 8 defensive lineman and No. 81 player nationally, per 247 Sports Composite. He competes for Byron Nelson High School in Trophy Club, TX, where he's the eighth-ranked player in the state.

Along with returning the entire starting four from a year ago, the Ducks are bringing in a talented group of defensive lineman as part of the 2026 class, highlighted by five-star edge rusher Anthony "Tank" Jones and four-stars Tony Cumberland and Prince Tavizon.

If Toia were to commit to Oregon, he would be the second commit in the 2027 class along the defensive line, joining four-star edge rusher Cameron Pritchett.
