Texas A&M’s 2027 recruiting class will take center stage this summer, starting with several commitment announcements over the next few weeks, including five-star tackle Oluwasemilore Olubobola this Tuesday, and four-star tackle Jake Hildebrand, who is set to announce his commitment on Tuesday, May 19.

While the Aggies are finalists to land both players, it’s clear that coach Mike Elko and offensive line coach Adam Cushing have pivoted after landing five-star IOL Kennedy Brown, and are one of several finalists for five-star tackle Mark Matthews, already receiving a prediction from On3’s Steve Wiltfong to land the blue-chip OL, who will take all his official visits before making his decision.

Early in the process, the Aggies were slight favorites to land Jake Hildebrand, who is considered one of the most complete prospects in Arizona, but, due to Elko and Cushing’s hot pursuit of Mark Matthews, Arizona State has made significant progress late in the process, and is now given a 77% chance, per rivals, to land the in-state prospect’s commitment.

While Texas A&M has done an impressive job recruiting Arizona, including rising redshirt freshman cornerback Jamar Beal-Goines, it’s no surprise that the Aggies are not expected to land Olubobola or Hildebrand, but it remains a great sign that Texas A&M is a finalist for nearly every blue-chip offensive O-lineman in the 2027 cycle.
