Texas A&M’s future offensive line is expected to feature two of the program’s top-ranked 2027 prospects, as four-star tackles Kaeden Scott and DeMarrion Johnson are considered blue-chip recruits with the versatility to play multiple positions across the offensive line.
Johnson, who stands at 6’7″ and 300 pounds, is already an elite pass protector and looks like the next starting left tackle for the Aggies once he gets used to the speed of the college game, knowing that he’ll need to improve as a run blocker within OC Holmon Wiggins’ versatile scheme.
On paper, Texas A&M’s offensive line lost five players and four starters to the 2026 NFL Draft, leading coach Mike Elko to land four SEC starting O-linemen from the transfer portal, who will all compete for starting spots this offseason. OL coach Adam Cushing is entirely focused on developing future NFL players, and DeMarrion Johnson fits that mold.
After denying a rumor regarding his intent to visit other programs, Johnson officially shut down his recruitment heading into the spring, and will sign with the Aggies in early December. In a brief interview with GigEm247 recruiting insider Joseph Hastings, Johnson stated that Texas A&M offers him “everything” to build a bright football future.
“Just having conversations with them reminded me that I have everything that I need right in front of me at Texas A&M.”
According to 247Sports, Johnson is the 97th-ranked prospect in the 2027 class, the 12th-ranked OT, and the 13th-ranked prospect in Texas.
