2027 5-star OL has canceled his OV to Texas A&M this weekend

Texas A&M coach Mike Elko enters his third season at the helm and has already become one of the top recruiters in the country after securing back-to-back top 10-ranked recruiting classes, including the 2025 cycle, which features several players who will be vying for starting/key reserve spots this fall.
With 14 commits in the 2027 class, which is currently ranked No. 1 in all three major recruiting outles (Rivals, 247Sports, ESPN), the Aggies will begin to host its first group of official visitions, including several of the program’s 14 commitments, but as of Wednesday night, five-star offensive lineman Ismael Camara, who was scheduled to take his OV this weekend, has reportedly changed his plans.
According to Camara’s post on X, the blue-chip offensive lineman has not just canceled his official visit with the Aggies, but every OV scheduled for this summer, and will instead focus on his senior season and push his visits to the fall. One of the most versatile offensive linemen in the cycle, Camara made things clear on X post.
“I want to extend my sincere gratitude to all the coaches and programs who have invited me to take an official visit this summer, as well as the dedicated staff who work tirelessly to make these visits so special for players and their families,” Camara stated on X. “That being said, I have decided not to take any official visits this summer. The personal challenge I set for myself two years ago (when I got here) completing high school in just 2.5 years to early enroll in 2027 demands my full commitment. I’m incredibly proud of the progress I’ve made in these two years.
“As a team captain, I’ve got to be here for my teammates during summer workouts,” Camara added. “This is my final season. Last year was my first on varsity, and we fell short. This year, we’re determined not to let that happen. That’s another reason why I need to stay focused and put everything I have into this sh*t.
This does not mean that Texas A&M is out on Camara by any means, and the Aggies are already well equipped in the trenches with commitments from five-stars Mark Matthews and Kennedy Brown, paired with four-star tackles DeMarrion Johnson and Kaeden Scott. This weekend, five-star IOL Albert Simien is guaranteed to take his OV, so all in all, this news has some upside.
