2027 three-star cornerback Nash Johnson still has the Auburn Tigers at the top of his list after Big Cat Weekend. Johnson was committed to Auburn‘s rival Alabama, but he decommitted on April 8th.

According to Jeffrey Lee of Auburn Sports, Johnson had positive things to say about the weekend.

“Everything went great. I loved the energy from the staff and other recruits,” Johnson said in an interview with Rivals’ Auburn Sports.

It was a good weekend for Auburn with a commitment from three-star linebacker Kareem Palmer on Sunday, and a surprising commitment from Delaware offensive tackle Layden von Brandt, who chose the Tigers over Notre Dame on Monday morning. It is another sign that the Tigers are picking up momentum recently when it pertains to the 2027 recruiting cycle.

Nash is from Powder Springs, Georgia, where he plays high school football at McEachern High School. He is rated as the No. 55 cornerback nationally and the No. 56 player in Georgia according to Rivals’ Industry Ranking. Auburn has always done well at recruiting the state of Georgia over the years. The Tigers currently have the No. 32 class for the 2027 recruiting cycle, and a pledge from Johnson would add to that ranking. While Auburn is at the top of his list, the Miami Hurricanes have a lot of interest as well.

His recruitment will be interesting to follow along with many others after Big Cat Weekend.
