2027 JUCO defensive lineman commits to Tennessee football

Tennessee is recruiting toward its 2027 football signing class.
Junior college defensive lineman Christian Mays committed to Tennessee over Arkansas, Mississippi State and Auburn on Saturday.
"After a great official visit, I am proud to announce I've committed to the University of Tennessee," Mays announced.
The 6-foot-4, 345-pound prospect is originally from Lakewood, Colorado and played for Northeast Mississippi Community College in 2025. Mays recorded 17 tackles, five tackles for a loss, one sack and one pass breakup.
Tennessee offered him a scholarship on May 17 and he officially visited the Vols on Friday.
Mississippi State was the first school to offer Mays a scholarship on May 7. Other schools to offer him scholarships include Georgia State, North Texas, South Alabama, Southern Miss, Troy, FIU, Kennesaw State, Louisiana Tech, Old Dominion, Sacramento State, UAB, Western Kentucky, Jackson State and Prairie View A&M.
Tennessee has 10 other commitments in its 2027 football recruiting class: linebacker JP Peace, offensive tackle Princeton Uwaifo, defensive lineman Kadin Fife, quarterback Derrick Baker, athlete Jaden Butler, wide receiver KeSean Bowman, defensive back Carter Jamison, defensive back Brandon Leavell and tight end Malik Howard.
