2027 NFL Draft: QBs to watch in Week 2 of college football

While the Cleveland Browns' 2026-27 NFL season is set to begin on Sunday, many fans will continue to tune into the 2026 college football season in hopes of a new quarterback.

Last week, the quarterback viewing guide highlighted LSU's Sam Leavitt and Ole Miss' Trinidad Chambliss as two names to watch for in Week One. Both quarterbacks thrived in their primetime matchups, and this weekend, there are even more prospects in key contests.

Here are three quarterbacks Browns fans should watch during Week Two of the 2026 college football season.

Dante Moore, Oregon

Saturday at 12:00 PM EST vs Oklahoma State (ESPN)

After barely surviving a potential upset against the Boise State Broncos in Week One, the Oregon Ducks will not receive an easy break on Saturday.

Luckily for the Ducks, quarterback Dante Moore is coming off an impressive season-opener that included him throwing for 378 passing yards and three touchdowns. Moore, despite being eligible for the 2026 NFL Draft, ultimately decided to forgo the opportunity to improve his draft stock.

This weekend, Moore must continue to prove to scouts that the moment is not too big for him — which was one of the primary knocks of his game.

John Mateer, Oklahoma

Saturday at 12:00 PM EST vs Michigan (FOX)

One name that people have forgotten about for the NFL Draft is Oklahoma quarterback John Mateer, who is finally healthy after a lingering hand injury limited him last season.

Mateer is one of the most exciting quarterbacks in all of college football due to his hyper-aggressive style of play. At 6-foot, 220 lbs., the former Washington State transfer possesses a cannon for an arm, while also having the legs to be a true dual-threat on offense. Unfortunately for Mateer, his consistent gambler mentality in the passing game has been something that has haunted him throughout his college career, which means a primetime matchup against the Michigan Wolverines will be a massive test for the veteran playmaker.

Saturday at 7:30 PM EST vs Ohio State (ABC)

Texas Longhorns' quarterback and potential No. 1 overall pick Arch Manning will square off against the No. 1 Ohio State Buckeyes on Saturday evening. As one of the top names in the 2027 NFL Draft class, Manning has every tool that you would want in your franchise quarterback — lively arm, great athleticism, and the ability to play off script.

While the star quarterback did struggle at times with his accuracy last season, Manning has continued to show steady improvements as a passer throughout his time with the Longhorns. Now, he gets the chance to dazzle scouts against one of the best defenses in the country on Saturday.
