2028 4-star QB receives new prediction to land with Texas A&M

Texas A&M's quarterback future could be set if AggieYell(subscription required) insider Jaxson Callaway's prediction for the Aggies to land blue-chip four-star signal-caller Donald Tabron comes to fruition after landing a commitment from 2027 four-star QB Jayce Johnson, who was A&M's first 2027 commit in the No. 1-ranked cycle. After landing four-star Edge Chance Archangel, Tabron would become the Aggies' second 2028 commit.
Just weeks away from the 2026 season-opener vs. Missouri State, third-year coach Mike Elko has his sights set on making it back to the College Football Playoff after reaching the tournament for the first time in program history last season, but will also be focused on hosting a long list of 2028 priority prospects, led by Donald Tabron.
Early in the offseason, Donald Tabron II looked highly impressive during his appearance at one of Texas A&M's camps, and while the Detroit (MI) native is being pursued by Michigan and several other blue-blood programs, Elko and quarterbacks coach Joey Lynch are in prime position to land his commitment ahead of the four-star signal-caller's junior season at Cass Technical.
After receiving a prediction from Rivals insider Sam Speigelman, Tabron has more than a 90% chance to land with the Aggies. Tabron told Jaxson Callaway that he's been "building relationships here with the coaches and players that I really haven’t anywhere else," which is quite the selling point for any priority 2028 recruit.
Standing 6'4" and 190 pounds, Tabron has plenty of room to grow and fill out his frame, and he instantly became a target for Mike Elko after throwing for 1,656 yards and 17 touchdowns during his freshman season.
