2028 4-star WR schedules Ohio State visit

It is finally football season in Columbus, Ohio. This Saturday Ryan Day and the Ohio State Buckeyes will take the field against Ball State for the first game to kick off the 2026-27 regular season.
Ohio State has had a busy summer leading up to this weekend. The Buckeyes have been hard at work during summer camp sessions determining winners of key position battles. This is all in an effort to achieve more than the team was able to achieve last year.
Ohio State had a successful season by most standards, especially with a win against Michigan. However, an early loss to Miami in the College Football Playoffs immediately after losing to Indiana in the Big Ten Championship means there is certainly more to be accomplished this year.
With the start of the season on the doorstep, it would be understandable if recruiting were to take a backseat, but that is far from the case for the Buckeyes.
Ohio State will be recruiting arguably more now that the season is kicking off, hosting recruits for Game Day visits. These visits are a crucial recruiting tool for the Buckeyes as Buckeye Nation creates an atmosphere in Ohio Stadium on Saturday’s that is matched by few schools across the nation.
Day and the Ohio State coaching staff are getting off to a quick start, as 2027 in-star running back Jordan Hallrecently announced he would be attending the Buckeyes’ first game for an unofficial visit. Getting Hall on campus for the first game of the season is crucial, as Ohio State missed out on its top target in the 2027 class when David Gabriel Georges committed to Tennessee over the Buckeyes.
With he 2027 cycle all but wrapped up for the Buckeyes until senior evaluations are completed, most of the Game Day visits this season will be with the 2028 cycle and beyond.
Speaking of next year’s cycle 2028 four-star wide receiver Zyon Robinson (Powder Springs, GA / McEachern) announced he will visit with Ohio State Sept. 26 when the Buckeyes will host Illinois.
The trip to Columbus will be the first for Robinson who is no stranger to Ohio State, but the Buckeyes will have some work to do if they are to become serious contenders for him. The Buckeyes have not yet offered the blue-chip prospect, but one could certainly follow once the visit wraps up.
Robinson is one of the top recruits at his position in the 2028 cycle. He is the No. 19 WR in the 247Sports Composite and he is the No. 138 national recruit. He is also the No. 16 recruit out of the talent-rich state of Georgia.
Ohio State will have some stiff competition if it is to pull Robinson out of SEC Country. He already holds offers from the likes of Florida, Ole Miss, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Indiana, Kentucky, Miami, Missouri, Nebraska, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Wisconsin and others.
While Ohio State certainly has ground to make up on the above teams, especially Florida and Ole Miss, the fact Robinson wants to visit with the Buckeye despite being offered shows he is interested in Ohio State, which is understandable with Ohio State’s track record of developing talent at the position.

Ohio State is not only hitting the recruiting trail on the gridiron, as Jake Diebler and the Ohio State men’s basketball Buckeyes made multiple recruiting headlines to start the week.
Possibly the biggest news of the day was with 2027 four-star point guard Joshua Tyson (La Porte, IN / La Lumiere School) who officially visited with the Buckeyes this past weekend. Ohio State reportedly left a big impression on him and could be the new favorites to land him.
Speaking of blue-chip point guards in the 2027 cycle, four-star PG Jaxson Davis (Kansas City, KS / Monarch Academy) announced an upcoming official visit with Ohio State Sept. 4-6. He also has official visits scheduled with Minnesota, Iowa and Michigan State.
This weekend will be a busy weekend for the Ohio State men’s basketball team, as the above-mentioned Davis will not be the only blue-chip recruit on campus.
Davis will be joined by four-star power forward Deng Ngor (Fort Erie, ON / Fort Erie International Academy) who will also be taking an official visit with Ohio State this weekend. Ngor also has official visits scheduled with Washington, Florida and Duke.
