2028 Louisiana linebacker to visit Tennessee for LSU football game

Four-star linebacker Shamar Evans will visit Tennessee for the first time during the 2026 football season. He will visit for the Tennessee-LSU game at Neyland Stadium on Nov. 21, according to Tyler Harden of 247Sports.
The 2028 prospect will also visit LSU, Texas, Florida, Texas A&M, Georgia Tech, Michigan, Auburn, Florida State, Ohio State, SMU and Alabama during the 2026 season.
The 6-foot-2, 205-pound linebacker is from Ruston High School in Ruston, Louisiana. 247Sports ranks Evans as the No. 9 linebacker in the class and No. 5 player in Louisiana.
Tennessee offered him a scholarship on April 1.
Ole Miss was the first school to offer Evans a scholarship on Oct. 30, 2025. Other schools to offer him scholarships include Baylor, Jackson State, Mississippi State, Syracuse, Missouri, Georgia, Nebraska, Arkansas, Georgia Tech, Louisiana Tech, Virginia Tech, Bowling Green and UCLA.
Tennessee does not have a commitment in its 2028 recruiting class.
The Vols have 19 commitments in their 2027 football recruiting class: linebacker JP Peace, offensive tackle Princeton Uwaifo, quarterback Derrick Baker, athlete Jaden Butler, wide receiver KeSean Bowman, defensive back Carter Jamison and defensive back Brandon Leavell, tight end Malik Howard, defensive lineman Christian Mays, cornerback Dylan Haley, linebacker Kenneth Simon II, kicker Ford Fehling, long snapper Sam McKeown, offensive tackle Q’Mari Hudson, athlete Dayon Cooper, safety Marcus Jones, offensive tackle Niko Kampas, running back David Gabriel Georges and running back Asa Barnes.
