2029 TE, Son of Ex-Washington QB Visiting For Huskies' Big Ten Opener

For the first time in a long while, there will be a Tuiasosopo back inside Husky Stadium this weekend when the Washington Huskies open their 2026 Big Ten Conference slate against Minnesota.

Bryce Tuiasosopo, a 6-foot-4, 225-pound tight end from Manvel, Texas, and the son of former Huskies star quarterback Marques Tuiasosopo, announced Thursday he will be in attendance on Saturday night when UW hosts the Golden Gophers and P.J. Fleck, his first visit since receiving an offer from his father's alma mater in early June.

The rising Manvel High School standout sophomore recently visited UCLA and Texas A&M, the latter of which hasn't offered yet, while the Bruins and several others have already. Renowned high school football evaluator Tom Lemming noted in August that the class of 2029 has the potential to be a national recruit.

UW tight ends coach Jordan Paopao has some familiarity with Tuiasosopo's father, with the two serving as assistant coaches in 2013 at the school under then-coach Steve Sarkisian, something that could help the Huskies maintain a strong presence in his early recruiting and once it comes time to make his college commitment.

Thus far, only nine schools have formally offered the 2029 tight end: California, Houston, Kentucky, Missouri State, SMU, Texas Tech, UCLA, and UW. However, if his recent unofficial visit to College Station to check out the Aggies' 50-0 win over Missouri State is any indication, there are plenty more offers expected to come Tuiasosopo's way in the next two years.

Through their first three games, Manvel is undefeated in 2026, with Bryce's older brother, Brayden, leading the offense as the Mavericks' starting quarterback.
