3 bold predictions for Alabama's highly anticipated matchup against LSU

The Alabama Crimson Tide will face the LSU Tigers in a highly anticipated matchup on Saturday night.

The Tide enter the contest with a 7-1 record and find themselves amongst the top teams in the SEC. Ty Simpson and the Alabama offense as a whole played at a very high level against the Gamecocks in South Carolina, and the unit will have an excellent opportunity to shine once again against an LSU defense that has struggled throughout a large portion of the season.

The Alabama defense may very well be the deciding factor in the outcome of Saturday night’s matchup. Yhonzae Pierre and Tim Keenan lll will look to set the tone early on the defensive line for the Tide, as both players have played crucial roles up front in recent weeks. The defense as a whole has been widely regarded as one of the best defenses in college football throughout the majority of 2025, and the unit could thrive against Garrett Nussmeier and the LSU offense.

Here are three bold takes for Alabama’s matchup against LSU in Tuscaloosa.

Yhonzae Pierre explodes for two sacks against Garrett Nussmeier

Pierre has emerged as a focal point on the Alabama defensive line in 2025. The redshirt sophomore currently has four sacks on the year along with two forced fumbles, as the star continues to be an x-factor on the defensive unit week after week. Pierre could quickly find himself having an excellent game against an underwhelming LSU offensive line on Saturday, and the talented redshirt sophomore will look to make his presence known as early on as possible.

Ty Simpson has his best performance of the season despite facing a talented LSU secondary

Ty Simpson has been one of the best quarterbacks in the country throughout the first 10 weeks of play. The redshirt junior will be tasked with an excellent challenge on Saturday night, as LSU’s secondary has been playing at an extremely high level in recent weeks. Simpson could still thrive despite the talent on the other side of the football, and the star quarterback will look to continue his Heisman campaign in Week 11 against the Tigers.

Bray Hubbard continues to shine with an interception and three tackles against the LSU offense

Bray Hubbard has played an essential role in the Alabama secondary this season. The talented junior currently has 44 tackles on the year paired with a forced fumble and three interceptions, as Hubbard has emerged as one of the best safeties in the nation throughout 2025. Nussmeier has not thrown an interception since LSU’s matchup with South Carolina in Week 7, but the pressure from Alabama’s defensive line could be a major advantage for Hubbard and the rest of the Crimson Tide’s secondary.

The Tide will host the LSU Tigers at 7:30 p.m. ET on Saturday night, and Alabama will look to stay hot and make a statement against a heated rival.
