3,000-Yard College Football QB Enters Transfer Portal After College Football Season

The college football season is over for a majority of teams.

Some have played their bowl game already, others are still getting ready for theirs, and eight teams are still competing for a national championship in the College Football Playoff.

Jan. 2 is quickly approaching, and that’s the day players across the country can officially enter the transfer portal.

Since the regular season ended, more than 1,100 players have already announced their intentions to enter the portal, according to On3.

On Tuesday, Arkansas State Red Wolves quarterback Jaylen Raynor joined that group.

“Arkansas State QB Jaylen Raynor plans to enter the NCAA transfer portal, Hayes Fawcett reports,” On3 posted.

Raynor finished this season with 3,784 total yards (3,361 passing and 423 rushing), 26 touchdowns (19 passing and seven rushing) and 11 interceptions.

Raynor was a two-star recruit in the class of 2023 and had no Power 4 offers. He attended East Forsyth High School in Kernersville, North Carolina.

He recently wrapped up his junior season with the Red Wolves and led them to a 7-6 record.

Arkansas State started the season 1-4 and finished winning six of their final eight. The Red Wolves closed out their season with a 34-28 victory over the Missouri State Bears in the Xbox Bowl on Thursday. Raynor completed 17 of 31 passes for 288 yards and three touchdowns with no interceptions.

Raynor joins a list of three other Arkansas State players with intentions of entering the portal. They include DL Cody Sigler, RB Ja’Quez Cross and EDGE Javante Mackey.
