4-star dual-threat QB commits to SEC foe over Georgia

The SEC’s hottest recruiting team, the Oklahoma Sooners, have secured a commitment from four-star quarterback recruit Jamison Roberts, who is a member of the class of 2027. Roberts committed to Oklahoma over the Georgia Bulldogs, Ole Miss Rebels and Auburn Tigers.

Georgia entered the mix late for Roberts with a scholarship offer in February, but it was too little, too late. The four-star passer is one of the latest players to commit to Oklahoma’s No. 1-ranked class of 2027.

Roberts stars in football for Saraland High School in Saraland, Alabama. The 6-foot-3, 190-pound quarterback helped Saraland advance to the 2025 6A state championship game before Roberts and Saraland fell to Clay-Chalkville in a state title defeat.

Roberts is ranked as the No. 22 quarterback in the nation, per 247Sports. The four-star is America’s No. 289 recruit and the No. 15 prospect in Alabama. Roberts is a talented dual-threat quarterback and is coming off a historically productive junior season.

Saraland's Jamison Roberts (10) escapes a pass rush to throw a touchdown pass at the end of the first half against Clay-Chalkville in the AHSAA 6A State Championship game.

Coach Kirby Smart and Georgia are still hunting to find their quarterback in the class of 2027. The Bulldogs do have a commitment from five-star quarterback Jayden Wade, but he’s a member of the class of 2028.

As a junior, the Saraland standout posted 4,011 total yards, 58 total touchdowns and only five interceptions. He totaled 3,370 passing yards, 37 passing touchdowns and completed 73% of his passes. The elusive quarterback added 641 rushing yards and 21 rushing touchdowns. He’ll look to be the next great quarterback at Oklahoma.

Roberts has a great arm and commands respect as a rusher. He shows speed and evasiveness on tape as a rusher. Roberts throws an accurate deep ball and displays good ball placement.
