Georgia Bulldogs quarterback commit Colton Nussmeier has been ruled ineligible to play during his senior season. The quarterback recently transferred from Flower Mound Marcus High to Denton Ryan High School, and Nussmeier will be unable to compete during his final season at Denton Ryan as a result. We’d expect the four-star to look elsewhere so he play football during his senior season.
Nussmeier is an extremely talented quarterback who could compete for a role Georgia’s offense in 2027. Standing at 6-foot-4, 195 pounds, the four-star recruit is the younger brother of former LSU quarterback Garrett Nussmeier. The rising star is one of UGA’s top commitments from the 2027 cycle, and Nussmeier being unable to compete throughout his senior campaign at Denton Ryan would be a massive blow for the young quarterback.
Nussmeier is ranked as the No. 12 quarterback and the No. 200 recruit from the class of 2027, per the 247Sports Composite Rankings. The recruit is rated as the No. 32 prospect from Texas, and Nussmeier was a star at Flower Mound Marcus High School despite being unable to compete this upcoming season at Denton Ryan. The decision to rule Nussmeier ineligible was ultimately made on a 3-3 vote at a district executive county meeting.
Georgia has targeted some of the top overall talent from the 2027 class in addition to landing Nussmeier. The Dawgs recently flipped former Penn State receiver commit Jamir Dean to Georgia, while also landing three-star defensive lineman Marcellus Young Casario.
