Kansas City Blue Springs South four-star linebacker Prince Goldsby announced his commitment to Ohio State on Monday evening.
He chose the Buckeyes over a loaded offer sheet that includes Alabama, Oklahoma, Nebraska, Mizzou and plenty others.
Goldsby is the No. 114 overall prospect and No. 9 LB in the 2027 cycle, according to the Rivals Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 1 recruit in Missouri.

“I can’t wait to be apart of this unbelievable program with great coaches who teach you, great players who push you and the best fan base in college football who expect nothing less than excellence,” Goldsby wrote on X announcing his commitment.
Goldsby becomes commit No. 13 for Ryan Day and the Ohio State staff this cycle. The Buckeyes have a top-10 class, per the Rivals Industry Team Recruiting Rankings.
The 6-foot-4, 200-pounder didn’t land an offer from the Big Ten juggernaut until late February, but it worked its way up his recruitment quickly. Goldsby got to Columbus for a spring trip last month, and not long after, he’s now pledged in a big-time recruiting win for position coach James Laurinaitis.
Buckeyes have elite defensive haul
The addition of Goldsby adds to an Ohio State class that’s loaded on the defensive side of the ball.
It all starts with Roswell (Ga.) Blessed Trinity Catholic five-star EDGE David Jacobs, the nation’s No. 4 overall prospect. He chose the Buckeyes over Miami in a literal last-minute decision back in December.
“Separating the programs at the end, (NIL) was significant because you know they show much they want you at the end,” Jacobs told Rivals. “It was definitely big, down the stretch it was rough, to be honest. The last 24 hours was…hectic, but I enjoyed it.”
Earlier this month, OSU also won out for Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas four-star EDGE Wyatt Smith, the No. 79 recruit and No. 11 EDGE in the cycle. He and Jacobs are a lethal one-two pass-rusher punch.
Goldsby becomes the second blue-chip linebacker in the OSU class, flanking Raleigh (N.C.) Millbrook four-star Quinton Cypher. The No. 20 LB in the cycle, Cypher has also been committed since December.
There’s also a pair of safeties in the class thus far: Cibolo (Texas) Steele four-star Eli Johnson and Hollywood (Fla.) Chaminade-Madonna three-star Angelo Smith, the younger brother of current OSU superstar wide receiver Jeremiah Smith.
