The Oklahoma Sooners had just one player ranked in Pro Football Focus’ top 50 players for 2026: defensive tackle David Stone. But the Sooners have a talented roster, with several players who could have been considered. That’s because the Sooners have a roster full of talent.

On both sides of the ball, the Sooners have stars that will contend for All-Conference and All-American teams in 2026. Their 2027 draft class could reach double digits with the possibility of multiple first-round selections next spring.

As we get ready for the 2026 season, here are five players who should have made Pro Football Focus’ top 50 players for 2026.

1. Isaiah Sategna, WR

Isaiah Sategna was a second-team All-SEC selection in 2025. He had more yards and touchdowns than Cam Coleman, who came in at No. 40 on the list. Sategna’s speed is eye-popping, and his penchant for big plays helped carry the Sooners at the end of 2025.

He’s one of the best wide receivers in college football, but because Oklahoma’s offense was limited due to Mateer’s injury, he wasn’t able to do as much. Look for a huge season in 2026.

2. Taylor Wein, DE

Taylor Wein burst onto the scene in 2025 to lead the Oklahoma Sooners in sacks. He was disruptive as a pass rusher and in the run game. Wein led also led the Sooners in total pressures, according to Pro Football Focus. Wein had more sacks and just one fewer pressure than South Carolina’s Dylan Stewart, who came in at No. 20 despite. Wein had a better overall defensive grade than Stewart in 2025. So why not include him?

3. Jayden Jackson, DT

Jayden Jackson just lives a life of the underrated. Underrated out of high school, and here we are again, even though he earned freshman All-American accolades and has been nothing but awesome since joining the Sooners. Stone has been a force in the middle of the Sooners’ defensive line each of his two seasons in Norman and a big reason why the unit has improved significantly over the last couple of years. What he does to control opposing offensive lines frees up running room for the rest of his defensive line mates as well as the linebacker corps.

4. Peyton Bowen, S

Peyton Bowen was arguably the MVP of Oklahoma’s defense during their 4-0 run in November. He had an interception at the goal line against LSU to prevent a touchdown and then sealed the win over the Tigers on a pass deflection to clinch a playoff berth for the Sooners.

Over Oklahoma’s last five games of the season, he had 22 total tackles, four pass deflections, and two interceptions to help lead Oklahoma’s young secondary.

He’s one of the most athletic and experienced players on Oklahoma’s defense. Bowen’s a playmaker. Look for him to build upon what was a fantastic 2025.

5. Kip Lewis, LB

Among players with at least 481 snaps last season, Kip Lewis had the 12th-highest run defense grade in the Power Four. He had 39 total stops, according to Pro Football Focus, which takes into account down and distance where the play was made, 1 stop every 14 snaps. Compare that to last year’s Butkus winner, Jacob Rodriguez, who had one stop for every 11 snaps. The Texas Tech linebacker who played for Texas Tech against lower-level competition in the Big 12,

Kip Lewis is one of the best players on one of the best defenses in college football. He should certainly be considered among the best players in college football.
