5 potential ESPN 'College GameDay' Oregon Ducks games in in 2026

The Oregon Ducks' 2026 college football schedule was officially released earlier this week, and while we knew which teams Dan Lanning's squad would face this season, we now know when the games will be played, which often ends up being a huge variable in a schedule.
For instance, the Ducks' schedule is a bit daunting, particularly at the end of the year. While they have an early test on the road against the USC Trojans, Oregon will finish the year with a four-week stretch that features games against the Ohio State Buckeyes, Michigan Wolverines, and Washington Huskies, coming at the end of an eight-week stretch without a bye.
That's going to be a tough month to navigate.
At this early point, we know far too little to accurately predict each game, but it is a good time to take a look and see which Duck games could potentially have high enough stakes to bring ESPN's College GameDay to campus — be it in Eugene, or on the road — to preview the action. The Ducks have been featured on 'GameDay' 35 times before, so it wouldn't be a shock to see it happen once again this year.
Here's a look at the games we think are most likely to receive the 'GameDay' treatment:
Week 4 at USC Trojans
Date: September 26
Analysis: Much like they traveled to Penn State early in the year last season for a prove-it game, the Ducks will have a similar opportunity this time around, on the road against the USC Trojans. This West Coast rivalry is one of the best in the conference, and, assuming both teams are 3-0 at this point, it might be among the most intriguing games on the schedule as a potential top-15 matchup.
Other Games to Watch: Texas A&M vs. LSU / Texas vs. Tennessee / Georgia vs. Oklahoma / Iowa vs. Michigan
Week 7 vs. Nebraska Cornhuskers
Date: October 17
Analysis: This is probably the least likely to have GameDay come to Eugene, but on the extremely rare chance that Dylan Raiola finds his way onto the field, then this matchup becomes very important to watch against his former team. That being said, I think this deserves to be at the bottom of the list of reasonable possibilities.
Other Games to Watch: Ohio State vs. Indiana / Michigan vs. Penn State / BYU vs. Notre Dame
Week 10 at Ohio State Buckeyes
Date: November 7
Analysis: This is undoubtedly the biggest game on Oregon's schedule, and if it weren't for a matcup against the reigning champion Indiana Hoosiers, then it would be the biggest game on Ohio State's schedule as well. These could be the top two teams in the nation by Week 10, and it could be a Big Ten Championship preview. I have to imagine that either 'GameDay' or 'Big Noon Kickoff' will be in Columbus for this one.
Other Games to Watch: Miami vs. Notre Dame / Georgia vs. Ole Miss / Alabama vs. LSU
Week 11 vs. Michigan Wolverines
Date: November 14
Analysis: Just a week after traveling to Columbus, the Ducks have to turn around and host the Michigan Wolverines, who will be an interesting challenge with Kyle Whittingham at the helm. It will undoubtedly be a physical game and an important spot for the Ducks, regardless of what happens the week prior.
Other Games to Watch: Indiana vs. USC / Miami vs. Duke / Texas vs. LSU / Ole Miss vs. Oklahoma /
Week 13 vs. Washington Huskies
Date: November 28
Analysis: Depending on how the season plays out for Washington, this matchup in Eugene could be for a spot in the College Football Playoff and the Big Ten Title Game, for the Ducks, at least. While I think this game could be big enough, it's also hard to figure that 'GameDay' would spend Rivalry Week in Eugene with all of the other big-time matchups across the board available to them.
Other Games to Watch: Ohio State vs. Michigan / Alabama vs. Auburn / USC vs. UCLA
