5-Star Recruit Honor Fa'alave-Johnson Shares Excitement Over LSU Offer

Honor Fa’alave-Johnson, out of San Diego, California, has emerged as one of the most sought-after recruits in the 2027 cycle. Standing at 6-foot-0 and weighing 180 pounds, the safety put up impressive numbers as a junior at Cathedral Catholic High School.

He appeared in 12 games, racking up 38 tackles, one tackle for loss, four pass deflections, two interceptions and a fumble recovery. Despite being recruited as a safety, he also saw production as a running back. Fa’alave-Johnson rushed the ball 128 times for 1,265 yards and 21 touchdowns.

The defender is listed as a five-star recruit, the No. 1 safety and the No. 16 player in the nation, per Rivals Industry Rankings. He continues to garner attention from college football top programs, holding offers from the USC Trojans, Oregon Ducks, Oklahoma Sooners and Notre Dame Fighting Irish.

However, another powerhouse recently entered the conversation. On Thursday, Fa’alave-Johnson announced that he’s received an offer from the LSU Tigers. He then spoke to Rivals’ Adam Gorney, giving his thoughts on the latest development.

“It’s a blessing for sure,” Fa’alave-Johnson said. “Late on my recruitment but they said they’re going to push. We’ll see how everything goes as time goes.”

This is head coach Lane Kiffin’s first offseason with the Tigers, replacing the fired Brian Kelly. He and his staff are looking to upgrade their 2027 recruiting class, which ranks 10th in the SEC with just two commitments.

Many high school recruits choose their college the summer before their senior year. That means Fa’alave-Johnson may soon be coming to a decision. However, LSU’s recent offer only gives him more to think about.
