Wide receiver Monshun Sales out of Indianapolis is one of the most sought-after players in the 2027 recruiting class.
Rivals Industry Rankings lists him as a five-star recruit, the No. 2 wide receiver, the No. 1 player in Indiana and the No. 8 player in the nation.
As a junior at Lawrence North High School, Sales hauled in 37 receptions for 794 yards and nine touchdowns. He also played defense, accumulating 56 tackles, one tackle for loss and one hurry.
He holds offers from powerhouses such as the Alabama Crimson Tide, Indiana Hoosiers, Michigan Wolverines, Ohio State Buckeyes and Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
Sales made his way to Tuscaloosa for a visit with the Crimson Tide. While he plays in Indiana, the wide receiver is originally from Alabama. After the visit, he spoke to Rivals’ Steve Wiltfong to recap the experience.
“The visit was amazing,” Sales said. “Definitely felt different being back home as a top recruit. This is everything I dreamed of when I was playing little league ball back in Ensley [Alabama]. … The biggest takeaways was how they’re focusing on developing the wide receivers and making sure it’s a priority to get the playmakers the ball.”
However, it’s still an intense battle for Sales’ commitment. Sales has stayed busy since the start of the new year, also taking visits with Indiana (Jan. 24) and the Auburn Tigers (Sunday).
If Alabama’s efforts do pay off, Sales would be a big addition to its 2027 cycle. The Crimson Tide have already landed four commitments, ranking seventh in the nation.
