50 Days Until Michigan State University Football!!!!!

TOC Nation, in just 7 weeks and 1 day, our Michigan State Spartans Football Team will kick off the 2027 season under new head coach Pat Fitzgerald. While offseason expectations for this campaign from the majority of national writers are understandably low, there is still a lot to look forward to. First up, there should always be an elevated sense of optimism when a new coach is brought in, especially so in this case as we no longer will have the monotonous John Smith running our football team. In the “addition by subtraction” category, we can look forward to avoiding Ohio State and Indiana (the last two national champions) on this year’s slate of games. If you like famous venues, MSU will be traveling to two of the most iconic stadiums in the land this season with games at Notre Dame Stadium to take on the Irish and at the Rose Bowl vs. UCLA. And, just as is always the case, we have our home games on one of the most scenic campuses in the entire country with a fantastic tailgating scene. Unless something changes and a game gets moved to Ford Field, we have 7 real home games this year.

Here at The Only Colors, your favorite source for Michigan State sports content, we are looking forward to bringing you even more coverage. We began last season with a staff of four; we will be starting this season with six writers. We will still have the same previews looking at the upcoming opponent and of course our game threads; what will be different is there will now be more postgame analysis articles (including the film room articles you enjoy so much).
