Chris Brazzell and DeSean Bishop led seven Tennessee football players who were selected to the 2025 All-SEC coaches team.

Three players made the list from UT’s offense, which led the SEC in scoring (40.8 ppg) and ranked second in yards (482 ypg). Brazzell, the SEC’s leading receiver, made the first team. Bishop, a former Karns High standout, was a second-team running back. Lance Heard was a third-team offensive tackle.

Three players made it from UT’s defense, including second-team linebacker Arion Carter and third-team cornerbacks Colton Hood and Ty Redmond.

Josh Turbyville, a former Knox Catholic standout, made it as a second-team kickoff specialist. He was a third-team selection in 2024.

The 2025 All-SEC team was voted on by the league’s head coaches and released on Dec. 9.

No. 23 Tennessee (8-4) plays Illinois (8-4) in the Music City Bowl on Dec. 30 (5:30 p.m. ET, ESPN) in Nashville.

What Tennessee football players did to make All-SEC team

Brazzell and Bishop were key weapons for the Vols’ potent offense. Brazzell led the SEC with 1,017 yards and nine TD catches, along with 62 receptions. Bishop rushed for 983 yards, fifth most in the SEC, and his 14 rushing TDs rank third in the league. Heard started all 12 games at left tackle, allowing only one sack in 832 snaps.

Carter led the UT defense with 76 tackles, ranked 10th in the conference.

Hood had 50 tackles, 4.5 tackles-for-loss, eight pass breakups, one interception, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery and two defensive TDs. He was a semifinalist for the Jim Thorpe Award, given annually to college football's best defensive back.

And Redmond, a freshman, overcame early growing pains for a strong finish. He tied for the SEC lead with 13 passes defended and led the Vols with three interceptions.
