Isaac Koch (b. March 9, 2004) is a preferred walk-on wide receiver who graduated in December with a bachelor’s degree in finance and business administration after redshirting in 2022 (with no playing time).
He played in eight games in 2023 as a regular member of the kickoff return, punt return and kickoff coverage units, seeing time on 71 total special teams plays and earning first-team Academic All-Big 12 honors.
Koch then played in every game in 2024 as a regular member of both the kickoff return and punt return units. In all, he saw time on 103 special teams plays, including a career-high 13 in the Rate Bowl against Rutgers.
Koch, who had yet to record an official catch at that point in his career, did play as a reserve wide receiver against UT Martin, West Virginia and Cincinnati in 2024, again finishing as an Academic All-Big 12 performer.
Last season, he finally caught two passes for 17 yards at Baylor, as he was in for a career-high 38 offensive snaps.
He also saw time on 33 offensive snaps the week prior against UCF and played in all 12 games, logging 104 offensive snaps and 96 special teams plays. And guess what? Yup, earned Academic All-Big 12 honors yet again!
Koch prepped under head coach Kelly Donohoe at Rockhurst High School in Kansas City, where he was a two-time first team all-district selection who also was a second-team all-state pick as a senior after accumulating 839 all-purpose yards.
He hauled in 38 receptions for 582 yards and five touchdowns during his final high school season, including a game with 203 yards.
Koch tallied 27 catches for 369 yards and five scores as a high school junior, and also was a two-time academic all-state performer who was widely acclaimed for his strong work ethic.
His father, Randy, was a linebacker for Kansas State, lettering in 1986 through 1988.
Isaac walked on at K-State over offers from Missouri State, Northwest Missouri State, South Dakota, as well as a preferred walk-on offer from Kansas.
