Elijah Jackson was a late April JUCO addition to the roster after the K-State coaches realized our defensive tackle depth was probably not up to snuff enough for Big 12 Conference play this fall.

Jackson spent last year as a Hutchinson Community College Blue Dragon. He collected 13 tackles (12 assisted, one solo), half a sack for 4 yards, and two tackles for loss for a total of 6 yards during his sophomore season.

Prior to arriving at Hutch, Jackson played in two games at NEO (against Butler and Independence community colleges) with two tackles (one solo, one assisted), 1.5 tackles for loss (totaling 7 yards) and a 6-yard sack.

Jackson, who has three years left to play two seasons, was formerly committed to play at Charlotte before flipping to the Wildcats. He prepped at Williston (Fla.) Middle/High School where he played for the Red Devils.

He also received offers from Delaware, Eastern Michigan, Florida A&M, Liberty, North Carolina A&T, Prairie View A&M, Sam Houston, Southern Miss and West Georgia, as well as interest from Appalachian State, Bethune-Cookman, Jackson State, Norfolk State, South Alabama, Tennessee State, Western Carolina & Western Michigan.

Jackson was rated as a three-star prospect, according to the 247Sports Composite JUCO rankings. He was a Hutch teammate of fellow Wildcats Michael Graham Jr. and Derrick Salley Jr., who arrived in the spring.

The 247Sports Composite has graded Jackson as the No. 217 JUCO transfer and No. 37 defensive lineman.
