Oklahoma State football lands LB Jack Puckett in transfer portal from UCO

STILLWATER — Eric Morris has shown he isn’t afraid to dip into the Division II ranks to find talent for his Oklahoma State football roster, and he has done it again with linebacker Jack Puckett.

The Bixby native and Central Oklahoma All-American committed to the Cowboys on Tuesday morning, announcing his decision on social media.

The 6-foot-1, 240-pound Puckett has had at least 61 tackles in all three seasons he has played at UCO, earning All-America status as a sophomore in 2024 when he had 102 tackles with 15 for loss and seven sacks.

He followed that up with 63 tackles, including 13 for loss, and four sacks with one interception in 2025.

UCO's Jack Puckett (30) sacks Emporia State's Gunnar Gundy in the first half of the college football game between the University of Oklahoma Bronchos and the Emporia State Hornets at Chad Richison Stadium in Edmond, Okla., Saturday, Nov. 16, 2024.

At Bixby, Puckett had 110 tackles and 12 sacks in 2021, and was named The Oklahoman's All-State Defensive Player of the Year.

He joins a veteran-heavy linebacker group that includes Trip White plus transfers Ethan Wesloski from North Texas, Tate Romney from Arizona State and Isaiah Chisom from UCLA.

Puckett is the 45th player to commit to OSU out of the transfer portal, and the second from UCO, joining running back William Mason.
